This service is specifically for approved compostable manure and bedding. Contamination can prevent service, create additional charges, or require staff review before the container can be moved.

Compostable animal manure from an approved agricultural or equine operation.

Compostable straw bedding and related approved barn material.

Do not mix in other waste. Household trash, construction debris, wire, plastic, chemicals, and other non-compostable items are not part of this service. Confirm any uncertain material with GLWD before loading.

Service agreement

Built for dependable recurring service

The manure-container program uses a one-year agreement so service expectations, access, timing, and material requirements are clear for both the customer and GLWD.

One-year term

A signed 12-month service agreement is required before service begins.

No automatic renewal

The agreement does not renew automatically at the end of the term.

Service at least every 30 days

The container must be serviced no less frequently than once every 30 days.

Electronic acceptance

The approved agreement and payment requirements must be accepted before scheduling.

Site and service requirements

Safe access every time

Placement

Provide a firm, level container location with sufficient room for safe delivery and service.

Truck access

Keep gates, roads, overhead clearance, and the area around the container accessible on service days.

Contamination

Only approved compostable manure, hay, shavings, and straw may be placed in the container.

Mileage and fuel

A mileage-based fuel surcharge applies and is confirmed using the service address.

Unsuccessful trips

Blocked access, contamination, unsafe conditions, or other avoidable service failures may result in a charge.

Staff confirmation

Availability and each requested service date remain pending until confirmed by GLWD.
