Product overview
Screened Mortar Sand is a fine, workable sand that is screened for a more consistent texture. Although commonly used in masonry work, it is useful for many construction and landscaping projects.
GLWD mines Screened Mortar Sand from its pits and screens it in-house.
It is not intended to replace compactable stone on roads or driveways, and it should not be selected where coarse drainage stone or structural aggregate is required.

Measure the length and width of the area and the desired material depth. For irregular areas, divide the project into smaller sections and measure each one. A phone can help collect approximate measurements—iPhones include the Measure app, and similar measuring apps are available for other phones. The required quantity depends on the mix, coverage area, and intended depth. Use the Product Finder Quiz if you are still choosing a material, then estimate your quantity.
Choose a firm, level dump location with enough room for the driver to enter, raise the truck bed, unload, and leave safely. Check for low tree limbs, overhead power or communication lines, gates, narrow entrances, soft ground, steep slopes, and tight turns. Identify anything hidden beneath the route or dumping area, including septic tanks and drain fields, irrigation lines, pipes, culverts, utility lines, recently filled trenches, and other breakable structures. Dump trucks are extremely heavy and may crack concrete or asphalt, especially when crossing edges or leaving the paved surface. The driver makes the final decision about whether the requested location can be reached safely. Keep the pile clean and separate from soil or aggregate, and protect nearby drains from loose sand.
Send GLWD the material, quantity, delivery address, name, and email. The team will confirm availability and pricing.
