#57 Stone material

Product overview

Medium-sized crushed stone for drainage, driveways, and construction.

What the material is

#57 Stone is commonly selected for drainage and general construction because the stone leaves open space for water flow while remaining stable when properly confined.

Quantity guidance

Measure the length and width of the area and the desired material depth. For irregular areas, divide the project into smaller sections and measure each one. A phone can help collect approximate measurements—iPhones include the Measure app, and similar measuring apps are available for other phones. Drainage, driveway, and specified construction projects may require different installed depths. Use the Product Finder Quiz if you are still choosing a material, then estimate your quantity.

Delivery preparation

Choose a firm, level dump location with enough room for the driver to enter, raise the truck bed, unload, and leave safely. Check for low tree limbs, overhead power or communication lines, gates, narrow entrances, soft ground, steep slopes, and tight turns. Identify anything hidden beneath the route or dumping area, including septic tanks and drain fields, irrigation lines, pipes, culverts, utility lines, recently filled trenches, and other breakable structures. Dump trucks are extremely heavy and may crack concrete or asphalt, especially when crossing edges or leaving the paved surface. The driver makes the final decision about whether the requested location can be reached safely. Protect drains and pavement edges and keep the pile contained near the work area.
