Product overview

GLWD’s signature screened compost for approved soil-improvement uses.

What the material is

Mane Event is GLWD’s signature compost, produced to add organic matter and improve soil structure when properly blended or applied.

How GLWD supplies it

Produced by GLWD as its signature screened compost using approved organic inputs.

When not to use it

Use rates depend on the plants, existing soil, and project. Bag weight varies with moisture.

Pickup and delivery

Loose pickup or delivery; bagged pickup at Pit 421. Available loose and bagged.

Truck and load options

Available as loose bulk material for pickup or delivery, in reusable cubic-yard bulk bags, or in convenient 30-pound bags.

Quantity guidance

Measure the length and width of the area and the desired material depth. For irregular areas, divide the project into smaller sections and measure each one. A phone can help collect approximate measurements—iPhones include the Measure app, and similar measuring apps are available for other phones. For blending or topdressing, measure the area and application depth. Use a thinner layer for established turf than for new bed preparation. Use the Product Finder Quiz if you are still choosing a material, then estimate your quantity.

Delivery preparation

Choose a firm, level dump location with enough room for the driver to enter, raise the truck bed, unload, and leave safely. Check for low tree limbs, overhead power or communication lines, gates, narrow entrances, soft ground, steep slopes, and tight turns. Identify anything hidden beneath the route or dumping area, including septic tanks and drain fields, irrigation lines, pipes, culverts, utility lines, recently filled trenches, and other breakable structures. Dump trucks are extremely heavy and may crack concrete or asphalt, especially when crossing edges or leaving the paved surface. The driver makes the final decision about whether the requested location can be reached safely. Stage loose compost on a clean surface away from storm drains, and protect bagged product from rain.
