What the material is

Crushed Concrete is processed from accepted clean concrete and used as a recycled aggregate for base, fill, and construction applications.

How GLWD supplies it

Recycled aggregate processed from accepted clean concrete and supplied by GLWD; current gradation is confirmed before sale.

When not to use it

Confirm current gradation, cleanliness, surface expectations, and project specifications before ordering.

Pickup and delivery

Pickup at Pit 421 or dump truck delivery. Confirmed when ordering.

Truck and load options

Bulk pickup or dump-truck delivery. Load planning reflects material weight, site access, and the requested base or fill volume.

Quantity guidance

Measure the length and width of the area and the desired material depth. For irregular areas, divide the project into smaller sections and measure each one. A phone can help collect approximate measurements—iPhones include the Measure app, and similar measuring apps are available for other phones. Calculate the compacted layer and include allowance for compaction and irregular subgrade. Specification-driven jobs must use the project quantity. Use the Product Finder Quiz if you are still choosing a material, then estimate your quantity.

Delivery preparation

Choose a firm, level dump location with enough room for the driver to enter, raise the truck bed, unload, and leave safely. Check for low tree limbs, overhead power or communication lines, gates, narrow entrances, soft ground, steep slopes, and tight turns. Identify anything hidden beneath the route or dumping area, including septic tanks and drain fields, irrigation lines, pipes, culverts, utility lines, recently filled trenches, and other breakable structures. Dump trucks are extremely heavy and may crack concrete or asphalt, especially when crossing edges or leaving the paved surface. The driver makes the final decision about whether the requested location can be reached safely. Prepare grade and drainage, mark utilities, and provide a stable dump area. Have spreading and compaction equipment available for installation.
